Invocation to Gwydion

Gaulish Druidism, Gaulish Polytheism

I invoke Gwydion
The one born of Trees
Great weaver of the unseen
Master of trickery and phrase
Advisor of the way
Wise Druid of old
I look to your great fortress in the stars
I give offering and thanks to you
I ask for your insights on this day
Thanks to you
Cheer to you
I praise you Gwydion
I go in peace

Gwydion is a Hero, Magician, Bard, and Trickster of the Welsh realm.
You can find his stories here.
The Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi
Book of Taliesin – Cad Goddeu (The Battle of the Trees)
Englynion y Beddau (Verses of the Graves)
The Welsh Triads.

His name is suggested to mean “Born of trees.” His learning gained from nature like an Alchemist weaving that of esoteric and scientific knowledge into one. I personally see him as a great Druid ancestor guide. A Druid of the green meaning of trees and Nature teaches a greater understanding of transformation and Knowledge by looking at the natural cycles around. He is a great Bardoi, weaving words into spells and incantations. So sitting with him can also aid one in Bardic work as well.
In time I will write more about him as I build a relationship with him. He reached out to me, so now I must listen to what he says.

Thanks to the Bardos Casnis Uatia for helping me.

  1. As a fellow devotee of Gwydion I love this incantation and insight into his realms. I will probably also use the incantation to help build my connection with him. Also, the depiction is so similar to how he has shown himself to me. All around really happy to see Gwydion among us!
